Limited availability of our inagural Pritchard Hill Block I2B Cabernet from Stagecoach Vineyards.

The 2013 Llamas Family Cabernet Sauvignon is our inaugural release from a single block within the Pritchard Hill region of the famed Stagecoach Vineyards. Here, the characteristic red volcanic loam soils pair with southwestern facing slopes and heat-tempering marine breezes from the Bay to create a unique terroir utterly suited to ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. 

We harvested our Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill Block I2B on September 9th 2013 while the fruit was optimally balanced between ripeness, phenolic and flavor development and acidity. Once in the winery, the fruit was sorted, de-stemmed and cold-soaked for 24hrs before undergoing
native yeast fermentation and long maceration in small stainless steel tank. The wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels (75% new) for 20 months before bottling. 
   

The warm and dry season of 2013 shows itself in the vibrant fruit aromas of this Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe cherry & wild strawberry blend with baking spice, cinnamon & caramel. The influence of the French Oak adds subtle waves of leather, cocoa and sweet tobacco. Enjoy through 2033!
